Stephen was driving home from work and began to feel very anxious. His hands started to tremble and his breathing became difficult. He had experienced the same symptoms two or three times before.

When he got home he rang the Helpline and explained his concerns to a Counsellor. Over the next half-hour he described the worries he has at home and at work and how he felt unable to control events around him. The Counsellor encouraged him to see his GP straight away, and also offered to arrange a meeting with a psychologist through the Helpline. Stephen is now receiving counselling and having identified some issues in his home and work life is now addressing these.

His panic attacks have stopped.
